Window Birthday Card - Inspire Create Challenge #044

Birthday card with a window and flowers using the Everything Is Rosy medley. Stampin' Up

Over at the Inspire Create Challenge this time, we have a sketch and it's a pretty simple one too, leaving lots of room for creativity!

Birthday card with a window and flowers using the Everything Is Rosy medley. Stampin' Up

I decided the square shape would make a great window and these gorgeous flowers won't need any water!, so I pulled out my current favourite,  the Everything Is Rosy Medley. It's a whole collection of products that all match, in Rose Gold, Night Of Navy and Melon Mambo. I decided to stay with this colour theme too. I just needed the stamps, dies, a couple of the die cut flowers, a mirror dot and a little of the Rose Gold Foil Sheet.

I used a couple of stitched shape squares to cut the window aperture and frame in Night Of Navy and cut the same size aperture in the Whisper White layer to create the window. The flowers and leaves around the window are a mix of stamped and die cut and the pre-cut flowers from the Medley.

I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo through the window to ensure correct positioning and added a couple more of the stamped and die cut flowers and leaves.

There are some Rose Gold framed card labels in the kit that have little holes as a pattern, so I used the tiny gold dots that would usually be left behind as waste, to scatter across the card to finish it off.

I absolutely love this Everything Is Rosy Medley, it's a limited time, exclusive and only around for the month of May.

You can see what the rest of the awesome Design Team came up with for this sketch here at the Inspire Create Challenge #044. Do pop over for a ton of inspiration and you can play along too. We'd love to have you!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #003 Merry CafeChristmas Card!

We are getting into the Festive spirit this week over at the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog and for challenge #003 we have a festive theme!  Festive to me means my most favourite time of the year! and I know it will soon be on its way.

Now I know its way early yet but I don't mind seeing Christmas things slowly creeping into the shops and surroundings. I always wait with anticipation at this time of the year for the festive cups you can get your coffee in. I love to see what the Christmas flavours will be too. Though I am a creature of habit and stick to my usual skinny cappuccino, I do indulge in my favourite Gingerbread Muffin you can only get at his time of the year and up until Christmas.  When the days get shorter and gloomier they certainly brighten it up a little.

I love this stamp set Merry Café. It just sums up that warm and cosy feeling!

My card base is in Cherry Cobbler and my layer in Old Olive card stock. Do you see the snowflake embossed onto the Whisper White panel? Its the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder. I love this embossing folder.  It makes a great simple, effective card background and I have used it loads! I have used the Be Merry Christmas DSP. (Patterned Papers) for my cup. I just love these cute little reindeers. Reminds me of a Christmas jumper! (I got my papers free in the buy 3 get 1 free sale we have on at the moment!)  The Costa cups last year had all sorts of fun designs on them and it reminds me of those.  I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Inks on Whisper White cut out into the cup wrap.  I have raised both the wrap and the cup up slightly with Dimensionals and I have added some ribbon to the front. I used mini chevron ribbon in Old Olive  and the double stitched ribbon in Cherry Cobbler. I'm not sure you can see it in the photograph but the snowflake has been picked out in clear Wink of Stella to give it a little sparkle.

I have added a panel of Whisper White inside the card to add my sentiment to and this has been stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

I made an autumn theme card with the same set a few weeks ago too, and I will definitely be using it for Halloween too. Its a very versatile stamp set.

Its so much fun to play along with the Inspire.Create.Challenge and we love to see new entries! Make sure you play along to be in with a chance of winning. hop over here to see what the rest of the talented Design Team have come up with for the challenge and all the other entries too!

Fun Halloween Treat Tubes !

Halloween is coming!

Yes, I am excited. I am like a big kid. Whilst traditionally the Brits don't celebrate like they do in the States,  we have always had fun at Halloween in our house, decorate and have a Halloween tea for the children. My youngest today told me the best bit is carving the pumpkin!

So with that in mind I thought I'd have some fun with these treat tubes . They are clear plastic so quite safe. such a simple way to dress up a treat and looks really effective with the labels stamped with the Spooky Cat Stamps.

I added some of the matching Spooky Night DSP (patterned papers) on the back. All the images match the stamps! I tied the label with the black mini sequin trim which looks great but would look equally good with black or orange ribbon.

You can see the papers more clearly in this picture before the tubes were filled with sweets. I had to fill them quickly before I ate too many! 😊 You can get just enough small sweets in them to be just right. And I think they'd look great at a table setting for Halloween tea.

These are very easy to make and child friendly. A great half term activity for the children to do and perfect to make them feel involved with any fun preparation you might have for Halloween. Not too many materials needed. Just two ink pads in Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie (How appropriate!) , stamps, punch and card. The DSP on the back just finishes them off. Once you have the supplies you can get them out year after year to use in any kind of Halloween project. There are so many uses for them. Click on the images at the bottom of the page if you would like them. I will be coming back with some more Halloween ideas I have made with this set, so watch out for those.

Here is my video tutorial of how I made them

Hug In A Mug !

I just love this stamp set! It is perfect for making cards and tags that give a nice cosy feel especially when the weather outside is becoming decidedly Autumnal. The leaves are falling and hot chocolate is definitely on the menu.

I took it along to my Coffee and Cards a few weeks ago to see what my lovely ladies who come along would make of it. Our first card we make at Coffee and Cards is one designed by me and then the ladies often go "free Style" for their other card. They did a great job don't you think! I love how you can use a stamp set and come up with so many variations, Its definitely is versatile set and fun to play with.

This was a sample made by another demonstrator in my larger team. Unfortunately I can't credit her because it was on a large table full of samples taken along to a team event for inspiration a few weeks ago but its lovely don't you think?!

See my You Tube Tutorial for using this stamp set here

My cards were made using the note cards and envelopes form Stampin Up. They came in Whisper White and Very Vanilla in packs of 20 and are oh so useful! They are currently 15% off until October 10th along with selected stamp sets too to celebrate World Card Making Day! You can see them and all the stamp sets in the offer  here

Merry Christmas. Global Design Project 106

The Global Design Project this weeks brings us a sketch challenge! #GDP106

Each week the talented Design team over at the Global Design Project bring us a fresh challenge and I love to play along and enter too.

I have had the beautiful foil snowflakes and the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up! a while now and have been itching to use them! They really are beautiful and just shout Christmas don't you think? OK, so I know its nowhere near Christmas yet but I make no apologies. Its the perfect time to be getting ahead to make those hand made cards for those special people you want to send one to at Christmas.

My base card is in Pool Party and my front panel Whisper White. I have run the white panel through the Big Shot with the Winter Wonder Embossing folder before adhering to the card base. This embossing folder is so simple to use to create a stunning background on your card. I love it. I was then a simple case of a little stamping. I used the Snowflake Sentiments stamps and cut out using the Stitched shape circle die. This was then layered into one of the beautiful foil snowflakes. You get loads (24) in a pack, did you know! I added a little of the mini sequin trim in silver behind using Dimensionals to lift the snowflake a little.

I added a little of the metallic washi tape too! Aren't they stunning!!

These cards are perfect for making batches of. I made a set of four. Two in silver and two in gold.
I hope you like them. Let me know, Id love to read your comments.

Hop over to the Global Design Project HERE to see what the Design Team came up with for this sketch challenge and see all the other entries too.
