Humming Along And Brusho's!

Humming Along And Brusho's!

I have been playing with the new Humming Along stamp set so much lately, I can't seem to put it down. I was inspired to get my Brusho's out over the weekend and this stamp set with it's lined images seemed perfect for it.

Humming Along Get Well card using Brusho's

It's a completely different look from my usual clean and simple style but I love water colouring and they are great fun to play around with.  I love the tropical look it gives it. It so cold at the moment, I'm definitely dreaming of warm weather and holidays I think!

How I made it

I stamped the Hibiscus in clear Versamark ink on Watercolour paper and then heat embossed using White embossing powder. This gave an emboss resist outline for the flower. I then sprinkled on the smallest amounts of Brusho Pigment Powders in the general direction of the areas of the stamped image and the spritzed lightly with water. I then used my heat tool to dry it as I was too impatient to wait! I layered it onto Basic Gray card and onto a Whisper White base to make it pop. I also heat embossed the sentiment in White onto a square of Basic Gray card and added a little of the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon underneath.

Have you tried Brusho's?  There are so many ways to use them. It is amazing to see those little particles of powdered pigment come to life when you add water to them.

Well Wishes At Coffee And Cards

Well Wishes At Coffee And Cards

I had a request to make Get Well cards at Coffee and Cards this week for one of our ladies. aren't they thoughtful!  This was a perfect idea so, I couldn't wait to ink up Dandelion Wishes again.

Dandelion Wishes, Coffee and Cards

We used a Smokey Slate Ink Pad to ink up the stamp, and then highlighted the middles and stems with a Grey Granite Stampin Write Marker. We added Clear Wink of Stella to give added sparkle all over the middle and "clocks" to give frosty look. Sending Well Wishes Your Way is stamped in Balmy Blue to match the card base and punched out using the Every Day Label Punch. This card is fast and simple to make #simplestamping

Dandelion Wishes, Coffee and Cards

It was a very festive Coffee and Cards this week as it was our last before Christmas. The ladies at Monday's session made these. They are lovely aren't they!

It's time for another Inspire Create Stamping Challenge and this time we have a colour challenge!

I have been playing with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set a lot lately. I haven't been able to put it down. I thought it would be perfect for this colour challenge.

Dandelion Wishes, Water colour, Silver Embossing, Stampin Up, Inspire Create Stamping Colour Challenge

I wanted to give the impression of the Dandelion clocks blowing away against a summer sky.at sunset. The dandelions are embossed in silver to give a pretty contrast.

Dandelion Wishes, Water colour, Silver Embossing, Stampin Up, Inspire Create Stamping Colour Challenge

How I Made It

I wanted a watercolour wash background to give the impression of a summer sky. I used an Aqua Painter (this is a paint brush with a water filled chamber) to lay plenty of water down on a watercolour paper layer. I then picked up the colour from the Coastal Cabana Ink pad with the Aqua Painter and laid it down. I added the ink from the Powder Pink Ink Pad in the same way . I used less of the Powder Pink. My water colour paper is 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm.

The base of the card is in Shaded Spruce (14.8 cm x 10.5 cm)  and the next layer is Coastal Cabana (14.3 cm x 10 cm)

Dandelion Wishes, Water colour, Silver Embossing, Stampin Up, Inspire Create Stamping Colour Challenge

I have stamped the dandelion clocks in clear Versamark Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  I have used the adhesive rhinestones for the centres of the dandelion clocks to add a little sparkle.

Dandelion Wishes, Water colour, Silver Embossing, Stampin Up, Inspire Create Stamping Colour Challenge

I have stamped the Sending Well Wishes Your Way onto Whisper White card using Coastal Cabana ink and stamped some of the little clocks in Powder Pink around. I wanted to created a label so I have used the oh so useful Everyday Label punch and raised it on a couple of Dimensionals. I have added some of the new Whisper White Bakers twine between the layers and tied a simple knot along the top.

Dandelion Wishes card. stamped inside card. Coastal Cabana,

I have added a Whisper White layer (14.3 cm x 10 cm) inside the card and stamped the dandelion both inside the card,

Dandelion Wishes card and matching stamped envelope, inkstampshare, Silver Embossing, Water colour

and on the envelope in Coastal Cabana ink. It's always nice to dress up the envelope a little.

Dandelion Wishes at Coffee And  Cards

Dandelion Wishes card at Coffee and Cards.

How gorgeous is this dandelion clock image?! I couldn't wait to get this stamp inked up and I was pretty sure that the ladies at Coffee and cards would love it too. This is the card I designed this week for Coffee and Cards.

Here is how I made it:

I inked the large dandelion stamp in Smoky Slate and then coloured in the stem on the stamp in Pear Pizzazz with a Stampin Write Marker before stamping the image onto Very Vanilla card.

I inked the sentiment "Sending Well Wishes Your Way" by sponging the stamp with Calypso Coral ink and Mint Macaron ink before stamping to give an ombre effect. I adhered it to my card base and then added a rhinestone to the centre of the dandelion to finish it off.

I supplied a few pastel colours of ink pads and card bases, Smoky Slate and Night of Navy inks too.

Here is what they made
