You Lift Me Up Easel Card. Kylie's International Blog Highlights

You Lift Me Up Easel Card

Kylie's International Blog Highlights

Thanks for coming to my blog today. I am so happy to be taking part in Kylie Bertucci's blog highlights. This is a monthly card challenge and you get to choose the winners! There are lots of amazingly creative people from around the world taking part.  The top ten winners will get to be part of an International Blog Hop,  so please vote for me. You can vote for me here.

Hot air balloon thank you card, Stampin Up. Kylie's International Highlights

The theme we have is encouragement, thankfulness and gratitude so I pulled out a stamp/die bundle that I thought would be perfect for this. It's called Lift Me Up.

It's full of hot air balloon stamps, clouds and great sentiments with a set a coordinating dies called Up And Away, including this fab detailed large hot air balloon die

I wanted to make an easel card and having it looking like the balloon was rising up and away from the clouds - to fit the sentiment I chose - "Thanks For Lifting Me Up"

The balloons are cut using the Grapefruit Grove Foiled Papers - free from Saleabration. Can you see the rainbow of colour when the light shines on it? I was going for a kind of sunset feel. I've used the dies that allow you to cut out sections to fit the back of the balloon in vellum to echo the fabric of a real hot air ballon.

I die cut the clouds in Balmy Blue and Whisper White to match the card and raised them up on Dimensionals to support the Easel part of the card.

Inside the card I have used the "Thanks" sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.

I know exactly who I'm going to send this card to! I love how it turned out, I hope you do

Jar Of Love Easel Card

 Jar Of Love Easel Card

Global Design Project #177

Jar Of Love Easel Card using Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green, Stampin' Up

It's a Colour Challenge over at the Global design Project this week and what a gorgeous colour combination.

Do you ever buy a stamp set that you absolutely love and use, but then something else comes along catches your eye and it sits on the shelf?  Jar Of Love , for me  is one of those stamp/die bundles. It's absolutely gorgeous and definitely needed some love so I pulled it out for this challenge,

Jar Of Love Easel Card using Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green, Stampin' Up

I decided to make an easel card. A simple but effective card fold.

Jar Of Love Easel Card using Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green, Stampin' Up

How I Made It

The card base is Thick Whisper White card. A4. Scored at 14.9 cm and cut at 10.5 cm. The front of the card base is scored and folded again at 7.5 cm.
The layer is Coastal Cabana card, 10 cm x 14.3 cm
The front is Whisper White. 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm

The jar is stamped in Memento Black and the water in Coastal Cabana. The ferns are stamped in Coastal Cabana, One of them stamped off twice.
The leaves are stamped in Granny Apple Green, die cut and adhered.
The flowers are stamped in Coastal Cabana stamped off three times and also in Melon Mambo, die cut and adhered,
I have stamped For You in Melon Mambo onto a small square of Whisper White and popped up on Dimensionals.
The elements used to prop up the easel are the jar lid, stamped in Coastal Cabana and the flowers in Melon Mambo. Die cut and popped up on Dimensionals.

I have taken the inside sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set , ( it was perfect for what I needed) and added some more of the ferns in Coastal Cabana.

I hope you like the card and that I might inspire you to dust off your much loved but less used stamp sets too. Here are the products I used to make the card with clickable links to my online shop.

Light Up Easel Card! Inspire Create Challenge 006

This week over at the Inspire Create Stamping Challenges  we have a theme challenge!

I decided to use the Star of Light Bundle to make an Easel card. I've not used this stamp set this year, I love it and thought it would be perfect for it.

I have used the star die to cut out the aperture in the base, the silver glimmer layer and also the top Whisper White panel. I sandwiched a piece of vellum between the Silver Glimmer Paper and the top Whisper White panel and placed the intricate die cut star in the aperture on top of the vellum.

I have stamped the sentiment  "Star of Wonder, Star of Night" and the swirl in Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

To support the card front I have added a little panel of Whisper White to the base of the card and added a layer of vellum stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. "A little Christmas spirit brightens all the world"

And with a little LED tealight behind it , the star can shine and make a very special card!

I really hope you like my Easel card. Hop over to the Inspire Create Stamping Challenge here to see what the rest of the Design Team have created. You can see all the other entries too. Inspire.Create.Challenges #002 - Hearts Come Home For Christmas Easel Card

Seeing the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog go live for the first challenge #001 was so exciting! I loved seeing what the rest of the Design team came up with for the colour challenge and we had some beautiful entries play along too! Inspire.create.challenges here

It is time for challenge #002 for the Inspire.Create.Challenges

This week we have a sketch challenge.
I have had the beautiful Hometown Greeting stamp and dies for a few weeks now and I thought they would be perfect for this project.

The layers of houses are cut from Whisper White cardstock using the Hometown Greetings Dies. I have sandwiched a layer of acetate between these and the card base.

I created a moonlit scene with Santa flying across the sky behind the snowy town. Before I adhered the front to the card I masked off the whisper white card stock with a one inch punched out circle from a post it note. I then inked up the background in Smokey Slate, Fresh Fig, Peekaboo Peach and a little Night of Navy ink. I applied with a sponge using upward strokes. I then removed the  circle mask and voila! a night sky! Do you see Santa flying across the moon? I stamped and embossed him in Silver Embossing Powder and I have added some of the silver metallic stars to the front of the acetate.

Why did I use acetate in my card? Because I wanted to make it a little different - a little bit more than a flat card.

An easel card!

I have stamped and silver embossed the sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White card and cut it out using the Stitched Shape Oval Framelit. I have cut a slightly larger oval from the Layering Oval Dies and sandwiched together with Dimensionals before adhering to the card base. This then holds the card in place.

The camera doesn't catch it very well but can you see my snowy houses twinkling in the moonlight?

Clear Wink of  Stella was used to add the snowy sparkle.

I would love to know if you like my card. Do leave a comment! You can go over to the Inspire.Create.Challenges here, and see what the rest of the Design Team came up for the challenge. We would love you to play along too. Adding your link is easy. Give it a try!
