One For The Men! Let's Sail Away With The Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

I am so excited to be part of the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and very honoured to be in amongst some very talented stampers from around the world! If you are starting here or continuing to hop, hello and welcome to my blog 😀

For our hop this month the theme is masculine. One for the men in our lives and the perfect excuse to show you this fun Pop Out card I made using the gorgeous Sail Away Suite.

I love the papers! perfect for everyone but great for the men in our lives. It can be a bit tricky to make a masculine card sometimes and I think these stamps, dies, and papers fit the bill.

It has a surprise hidden pop out inside giving it that WOW factor!

It's one of those that looks a little complicated but look a little harder and you can see how easy it is to make.

And a Birthday one. The birthday sentiments are from the Lots Of Happy Card Kit.

Measurements

Card base- 4 1/4" x 9" scored at 4 1/2"

Card In A Box With Come Sail Away - Wow Project

I am so excited to be part of Kylie Bertucci's June Blog Hop! We are an international group of demonstrators all working towards growing our business's and sharing ideas and inspiration along the way.  Thank you so much for joining us!

This is a card in a box with boats, light house, anchor, compass and seaweed, using the Lets Sail Away stamps, dies and paper from Stampin Up

This card was really fun to make.  Yes, it is a card. It's called a card in a box and folds completely flat to pop into the envelope!

This is the side view of a card in a box with boats, light house, anchor, compass and seaweed, using the Lets Sail Away stamps, dies and paper from Stampin Up

My fabulous team leader Michelle Last showed us how to make this type of card last autumn at a team event using the cute snowmen we had in the Christmas catalogue. I loved it and when I saw the Sail Away Suite in the new Annual catalogue I thought it would look great with the boats sailing in it. The Sail Away stamps and dies have gorgeous matching papers, perfect for this project.

Here is my YouTube Tutorial showing exactly how I made it.

I hope you like it. Please give me a thumbs up and subscribe if you do. Oh, and don't forget to click the little bell for notification of future videos.

I have added the new Bakers Twine to the anchor and the "seaweed" to give texture, and the compass needle moves around with the help of the tiny brad.

This is the back view of a card in a box with boats, light house, anchor, compass and seaweed, using the Lets Sail Away stamps, dies and paper from Stampin Up

The back is in Balmy Blue, stamped with the birds and boats, also in Balmy Blue so that the writing for the recipient can easily be seen.

For how to make it, see the video tutorial.  Here are the measurements you will need.

Dimensions

Box

A4 Night Of Navy card.
Scored with the long side at the top at:
7cm, 14cm, 21cm, and 28 cm.

Score with the short side at the top at:
7cm.

Cut at 15 cm along the short edge. KEEP the discarded piece of card.

Decorating the box

Balmy Blue card - Cut at 6.5cm x 14.5 cm - round the top two corners.

Designer Series Paper.
1 piece at 6.5 x 14.5 cm rounded at the top two corners (Inside the back of the box)
3 pieces at 6.5 x 6.5 cm rounded at the bottom two corners of each ( Box flaps)
3 pieces at 6.5 x 7.5 cm.  (box sides)

Bridges inside box

From the discarded Night Of Navy card, cut a piece which is 10.5 cm wide, ensuring that the scored 1.5 cm section is on the left. Cut in half at 3 cm so you end up with two pieces with scored ends.

This type of card is sure to get a Wow! from the recipient and whilst make take a little longer isn't more difficult. It's more fun to make and give than a flat card. Do have a try. I'd love to hear if you like it so please let me know in the comments.

I do hope you like my card. You can start or continue hopping around here, so grab a cuppa, and enjoy!

Little Elephant - New baby Card

Little Elephant - New Baby Card

Inspire Create Challenges #042

This week for the Inspire Create Challenges #042 we have a baby theme!

Baby card for the Inspire Create Challenges using The Little Elephant Punch and Twinkle Twinkle papers Stampin Up

I wanted to use the Little Elephant Punch for this card and the gorgeous Twinkle Twinkle papers too. I was hoping that they'd compliment each other and they do!

You could easily make this a unisex New Baby card but I needed one for a new baby girl  (perfect timing for this challenge!) so I went traditional and picked out the Petal Pink colour in the Designer Series Papers and cut out the word baby using the Well Written dies. Such a useful set to have.

Such cute little elephants aren't they! I added some of the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to finish it off. Did you notice, there is absolutely no stamping on this card! That can't be right. 😂I may need to add some on the inside. The lovely Twinkle Twinkle Papers wont be around for much longer. They are on the retiring list to make way for new product so do grab it in my online shop before it disappears for good.

I hope you like it,  Pop over to the Inspire Create Challenges #042 here to see what the rest of the awesome Design Team came up with for this challenge and do play along, we'd love to have you!

Dragonfly Dreams At Coffee And Cards

Hand made card with dragonflies in foiled card, cut out with Detailed Dragonfly dies at Coffee And Cards.

We had a lot of fun making these cards at Coffee and Cards this week. Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and the matching Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits are retiring. They are also one of my favourites so I took it along to play with

Hand made card with dragonflies in foiled card, cut out with Detailed Dragonfly dies at Coffee And Cards.

It's a simple square card. Whisper White, with a layer of either Coastal Cabana or Balmy Blue to chose from. I used the spotty stamp to create a background with Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue and Calypso Coral all stamped off and stamped randomly onto the card. It looks a little like moving water.

I took some extra card and some foiled card along for the ladies to cut out their chosen Dragonflies or bees from the matching dies. This foiled card is the Grapefruit Grove from Saleabration. It also looks amazing with the Copper, Silver or Gold too. We finished it off with a chosen sentiment from the stamps in Memento Black ink. I love this font.

These were made at the morning session of Coffee and Cards.

And these were some of the ones made at the afternoon session. I love how different they all are. All the envelopes were stamped with Dragonflies or Bees too. We do have a giggle at Coffee And Cards, it's great for everyone, a little haven of creativity and relaxation. Everyone is welcome.

I'm a little sad that this set is retiring, I have loved it and mine is well used. I will be hanging onto mine for sure. If you would like it, don't hang around as it is on the retiring list whilst stocks last and things do tend to go very fast.
