Handwritten and P.S. You’re The Best Stamps

I just love this stamp set, the typewriter image caught my eye. It resonates of times gone by when so much effort went into the writing of a letter to a friend. It really was something special to receive a letter in the post in the days before the internet and social media.

This was one of the cards we made at my monthly class in July. We used Copper Embossing Powder to emboss the background Handwritten stamp. It gives it such a lovely tone and goes well with the Granny Apple Green card we used.

The base card is in Whisper White to make the Granny Apple Green stand out. I added some of the gorgeous new Granny Apple Green ribbon along the front secured with snail adhesive.  The dear friend and you're the best are stamped in Granny Apple Green and I have added a stamped heart also heat embossed in copper.

I had this card in my mind for a while and I love how it turned out. I hope you do too.

 Teacher Thank You! - Handwritten Stamp

Just Stamps, ink and paper. 

I love the new Handwritten background stamp with it's curly font. It goes so well with the Pens stamp from the Crafting Forever stamp set. I used it to make a Thank You card for my son's teacher. Fitting don't you think

I stamped the background stamp in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White card and layered it onto an Old Olive card base.

The pens were stamped in Black Memento on Whisper White on top of an Old Olive Layer and raised up with Dimensional Foam Pads.

The Thank You is from Banners For Everyone and stamped in Old Olive and punched out using the Classic Label Punch. I punched another label out of Old Olive, cut it in half and popped the two halves behind the sentiment to make it pop.

Such a simple card to make but looks very effective. Perfect for a thank you for any teacher.  I hope you like it. Both these stamp sets are so versatile, I have been playing with them lots lately. It's amazing what you can do with just stamps ink and paper.

Coffee and Cards - Handwritten Large Background Stamp!

We used the new Handwritten background stamp from Stampin Up at Coffee and Cards this week.. 

And it pairs perfectly too with the Crafting Forever stamp set.

lovely for anyone who is creative or values anything handwritten or handmade.

Or with added colour with Stampin Write Markers.

So pretty.

I passed on a tip I find useful when using the very large background stamps.

Take the ink pad to the stamp instead of the other way around, then lie the stamp on its back, and lay the card onto the stamp. using even pressure using a brayer or another acrylic block press down evenly. 

Or, you can improvise a larger item as the ladies at Coffee and Cards did. They found a placement was perfect instead of a brayer!
